The man who killed Chris Kyle is still in prison in 2022. The tragedy happened on 2 February 2013, when a veteran, Eddie Ray Routh, with PTSD, shot him and his friend Chad Littlefield.

Two years after the incident, he was sentenced to prison in 2015 with no parole after several trials. Eddie was 25 years of age at the time and had been in & out of mental hospitals for around two years.

He shot Kyle six times to the back, caused severe damage to his spinal cord and jaw, and pierced his aorta. After shooting him, and his friend, he went to Midlothian in his sister Laura Blevins’s house and mentioned the incident.

Further, his sister called the emergency operator and mentioned the tragedy. On the same day, the officer took Routh to the Erath County Jail and held him on a $3 million bond, with capital murder on two counts.

After a year, on 5 May 2014, the trial against him was set to begin but was delayed for DNA testing requirements.

Further, on 11 February 2015, the trial started, and on 24 February of the same year, the trial ended with the jury finding Routh guilty of Kyle and Littlefield’s murder.
